Sam settled onto the couch for a peaceful evening. Dean was out, drinking or hustling or doing whatever Dean did when he was out, so it was just Sam, a beer, bag of chips and the TV.

Munching contentedly, he watched the local news headlines being announced.

'Police called to a disturbance in downtown Beloit…'

'Traffic chaos on the I70 due to loose cow crossing the intersection…'

'Unnamed driver of a Black Chevrolet Impala held after the near drowning of parking attendant in town fountain for 'sticking a goddamn ticket to my car'…

Sam sighed.

Just one peaceful evening; that's all he asked.
