Day 2 - Your Favourite Episode

How do I choose one favourite episode?  It's impossible, so I'm going to go with ten of my favourites.

All well and good choices. Wondering though about why Tall Tales and Clap Your Hands If you Believe. I enjoyed the episodes, but wouldn't necessarily put them in a top 10. So curious as to what it was about those two episodes.

With Tall Tales, I think it was one of the first times that we saw the comic interplay between Jared and Jensen (or Sam and Dean), and I just found it hilarious. Also, it was the introduction of the Trickster, and I thought from the outset he was a brilliant character. I actually liked him best when he was just simply 'the Trickster' before they made him Gabriel and gave him a bigger story arc.

With Clap your Hands, that's because I absolutely love faerie lore, and it was great to see it being introduced into the Spn universe. Also, some of the comedic moments were just priceless: Dean getting abducted, then gettng beaten up by the tiny faerie (with nipples!!!), the microwave moment, 'Fight the Faeries', crazy faerie lady, soulless Sam trying to empathise with Dean, over the abduction ... it's just all-round awesome!

It's difficult isn't it. At least five of those could just as easily be in my top ten - In my time of dying, Lazarus rising, Changing channels, The end and Faith. I probably need about a top thirty!

You definitely favour the darker episodes, whereas I favour the funny ones!

I could fave just about all of seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4, and most of 5!

I did a meme a couple of years ago where I identified my top fifty episodes, and when I did a 'per season' comparison, it turned out that season 3 was my favourite, and on the same basis I think season 7 was my least favourite.

I'm on a very slow rewatch and am in the middle of Season 6 - I'm enjoying it a lot more than I remembered. Death is so awesome, and I really love Soulless Sam.

I always thought although season six overall story arc was a bit weak ('the mother'), it had a whole lot of brilliant standalone episodes.

Yeah - I still don't much like the Campbell storyline, and the Eve thing could have been good but failed, but fortunately the soulless part meant we got lots of brother content and I think that's what makes that season so good.
