Snowflake Challenge - Day 15

 Challenge #15

In your own space, create your own challenge. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Doing this challenge over the last month has made me ponder how the word 'snowflake' has taken on a different, and unfortunately negative, connotation with some of the more unsavoury sectors of the media and groups of people over recent years.

John Cleese once said: 'yes, I've heard this word; I think sociopaths use it in an attempt to discredit the notion of empathy
.'

So, ignoring certain lowbrow opinions, let's think positively about snowflakes for a moment

  • They're beautiful
  • They're inspiring
  • Each one is unique
  • Individually they can be delicate; maybe even fragile.  But bonded together they can paralyse a city or create an avalanche that can sweep everything before them.

And that made me think of my f/listies, and fandom in general ... and thus my challenge was born!

My challenge is to love yourself as much as I love all of you - my snowflakes.  Leave a comment at this post telling me just one beautiful, inspiring or unique thing about yourself.  It'll probably be something I already know, but maybe something you need to remind yourself of - this is your chance!

Let me see an avalanche of self-appreciation and beautiful snowflakery!

Individually they can be delicate; maybe even fragile. But bonded together they can paralyse a city or create an avalanche that can sweep everything before them. This is so true, and I hate the negative use of the word snowflake, too. I have no idea where it came from but it's so annoying!

I love your challenge, although I always find it hard to 'big up' myself - like most Brits, I think! I am going to go with my optimism - I am a glass half full person most (not all!) of the time, which helps me cope with my health problems. And when I watch our show I look for all the good in each episode, not the bad as some 'fans' seem to love to do!

You most certainly are a glass-half-full person. You're a ray of sunshine and a fab friend x

Aw, thanks my dear, I've felt more like a damp squib lately, so that's good to know!
