JJ's final resting place

Today we laid [livejournal.com profile] jj1564 to rest at her favourite place, Hever Castle.

Sam scattered his Mum's ashes at the roots of a lovely little sapling which will, in time, grow into a stunning pink-blossomed flowering cherry tree.
The location was specifically chosen because it is inamongst lots of other plain green trees, so that when it blossoms it will really 'pop'!

Sam was an absolute trooper and we were all so proud of him.

So JJ will live on forever in the leaves and blossoms of this gorgeous little tree, and I look forward to watching it grow and flourish over the years !

Here are a few more pictures of the day:

What a beautiful place! June would love it! :D

(Isn't Hever Castle where Anne Boleyn & Henry VIII used to summer? I have heard of it, but I've never seen it. XD)

Hever belonged to the Boleyn family and Anne grew up there, so that'll be why you've heard of ti.

Ah, that's exactly what I said — glad I was right!

Yes, that's right. I believe Hever belonged to Anne Boleyn's family before Henry came on the scene.
It was only ten minutes up the road from where June used to love, and the grounds were very beautiful and accessible, so great for wheelchair users. June always felt very free and independent there.
