Fun with Alpacas

I'm about to start a new picture for the dapplegrey art stall, and since the autumn, a picture I've had in my mind is an alpaca.  They seem to be popular at the moment, and they are such fun, quirky animals, I think this is going to be a fun picture!

So, earlier today, I was having a little trawl around Google looking for some reference pictures of cute alpacas, and I came across this ...

Hee hee! Now that would be a challenge to draw - though how could you think of taking something so fluffy and adorable to a battle! LOL

I think it would be a great secret weapon in battle! Just think you could ride in and while everyone was laughing you could spring a surprise attack.

What a wonderful choice! I absolutely adore alpacas. And that's interesting that they're becoming popular where you are--they were crazy popular (and insanely expensive) here fifteen or twenty years ago, but now most of the alpaca farms on the island here have or are closing because the money isn't in it anymore.

They are definitely still around as pets--I'd love to get some eventually--and the local 4H still does an alpaca obstacle courses at the fair here every year, which is just too cute!

They are wonderfully quirky animals, and so cute!
There is an Alpaca farm on the Isle of Wight where I do some of my summer art exhibitions and they have always got a few of their herd there. They're always very popular!
