What a wonderful choice! I absolutely adore alpacas. And that's interesting that they're becoming popular where you are--they were crazy popular (and insanely expensive) here fifteen or twenty years ago, but now most of the alpaca farms on the island here have or are closing because the money isn't in it anymore.

They are definitely still around as pets--I'd love to get some eventually--and the local 4H still does an alpaca obstacle courses at the fair here every year, which is just too cute!
