It's been a lovely day in London.  The sun was shining, and the Mulberry Bush pub played host to another meeting of the Hunter Girls.
Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] theymp, [livejournal.com profile] xlittleangx[livejournal.com profile] andiivalo, and [livejournal.com profile] heavenli24, for fun times full of great food and great company.

Wow, 2017 already!  Because 2016 is so last year ...

It was a funny old year.  From a personal point of view, the main change this year was that, in the spring, I got myself a shiny new job where I'm feeling valued and appreciated, and enjoying a social life unlike anything I ever experienced in 13 years in the charity sector! From a fandom point of view, it's been another fantastic year.  I've attended three conventions, had Jensen take a photo of my artwork, took part in GISHWHES, and just generally celebrated the fact that I am lucky enough to be a part of this amazing and fantastic group of people!

I met even more of you in person, and that was special, so very special to be able to finally enjoy real hugs as opposed to virtual hugs!

So here it is, because I did it last year and it was fun to do, my fandom review of 2016!

Okay, so this is the one thing I'm not proud of! In 2016, I only wrote 21,613 words.  I've only counted story words, and that's the lowest number of words I've written in one full year since I've been in fandom.  My writing muse has disowned me completely, and the awkward little tart is showing no signs of returning.  I think longer work hours and a busy life generally has gone some way to killing my inspiration, but I live in hope that she'll come back one day!.

Anyhow, that said, here's the fun stuff ... )

... or plumbed new depths, depending on your point of view!

Behold, my Christmas present to myself:

So wrong, and yet ... so wrong!

Well, we knew today was most likely going to be a riot, and we didn't let ourselves down.  The Mulberry Tree pub really didn't know what hit it when seven extremely odd individuals, wearing an inordinate amount of plaid descended upon them and starting having strange conversations that involved words and phrases such as 'demon', 'exorcism', 'impala', 'wincest' and 'banging Dean Winchester like a barn door in a hurricane'.

I'd decided to cosplay Dean for the purposes of today's meet up, and by the time I reached Waterloo, wilting under Dean's forty seven layers (or at least that's what it felt like), I was ready to rethink that decision.  I am so going to canvass the CW and ask them to make their costumes more 'cosplay-friendly' to menopausal women.

So, in the end, we had a Dean, a Sam, a Crowley-ette, a Bobby and an any-character-you-like-who-wears-a-plaid-shirt.

It was a day spent with my lovely girls (and one equally lovely honorary girl) of exchanging gifts and love, eating, drinking and lots and lots of laughter!

So, thank you [livejournal.com profile] amberdreams, [livejournal.com profile] milly_gal, [livejournal.com profile] jj1564, [livejournal.com profile] xlittleangx, [livejournal.com profile] theymp, and [livejournal.com profile] andiivalo for making such a memorable day.

That's enough rambling - here are the mugshots ...

Sam, Dean and Bobby, what a team!

What sort of Supernatural fan would I be if I didn't ...

I already posted in this meme about these little dudes back at day 6, but here's where I'm going to post about their home:

[livejournal.com profile] spn_on_parade is the mini-community that I co-mod with my buddies [livejournal.com profile] jj1564 and [livejournal.com profile] milly_gal and it''s where we document the adventures - or should that be misadventures - of our little Funko Pop Mini Team Free Will.  Co-running the Parade has brought two great  friends into my life, and for that alone it's been a fantastic experience, but modding the community also tests my creativity and imagination to its limit, and that's someting that has brought me endless hours of joy and fun.

Over 100 people watch our little corner of crazy and follow the daily shenanigans of Mini Team Free Will and their growing population of cohorts.

It's a little place of fun and whimsy where quirkiness and absurdity rule and where our mini-boys engage in such regular fun and frolics as MiniLympics, Cooking with Crowley, Guess the Episode and Teeny Weeny Halloweeny.

I'm proud of how much pleasure our little dudes bring to those who follow their antics.  They regularly put a smile on peoples' faces, and that really is something to be happy about!

And so, just fior fun ... here are a few of my mini-boys' finest moments ...

At our mini mods meet up today jj1564 and I, ably assisted by Mini Sam and Mini Dean, decided to recreate our Asylum 16 J2 photo ...

It's been nearly two years since [livejournal.com profile] spn_on_parade was born.

The basic premise of the community when [livejournal.com profile] jj1564, [livejournal.com profile] milly_gal and I first created it was 'three grown women who are old enough to know better, a lot of Supernatural (and other) Pop Funko dolls, and no shame' but over those two years, our little corner of crazy has amassed over one hundred followers who tune in regularly to watch the antics of our little plastic people, and a growing population of mini-megastars that we lost count of sometime after the first month!

So, with our second birthday fast approaching, we're planning a global party, and everyone and their minis are invited ...

Details are all here!  More details to follow ...

I only went out for a couple of hours to get my hair done  ...

ahem. )

It's been a long time since I posted some of the adentures of my little plastic people here on my journal.

My little brood has expanded somewhat since I last posted here, but as their last comic is fairly topical (well, within the supernatural fandom anyway), I thought I'd repost!

It all started when Mr D and I were sitting beside our little pond last night enjoying a nice relaxing glass of wine.

And then ...

It's 2016 already?  Where the heck did 2015 go?

It was a funny old year.  From a personal point of view, everything was ticking along happily; from a work point of view, everything went to shit; but from a fandom point of view, I have never before felt so inolved and so blessed as I feel to be a part of this amazing group of people.

I met so many of you in person, and that was special, so very special to be able to finally enjoy real hugs as opposed to virtual hugs!  I also went to three conventions and took part in Reverse Big Bang for the first time (thanks [livejournal.com profile] amberdreams, you are totally my enabler!)

So here it is, because everyone else is doing it and if I ever did have an original thought in my head, it would be very lonely, my fandom review of 2015!

So that was 2015 )
